The way they radiate you for Prostate cancer is in this video.

Seven years in

I'm at the no-cure stage; they say the cancer hopefully won't spread. But I must stay on the shots and pills for the rest of my life! They are deteriorating my skin and bones daily at an alarming rate.

Nine weeks of Radiation

A course of conventionally fractionated radiotherapy for curative treatment of prostate cancer typically involves 35 to 45 fractions total, which takes about eight to nine weeks to complete. Hypofractionation refers to radiation therapy delivered with a higher dose per fraction over a shorter time.

7 years of Lupron Depot Shots

LUPRON DEPOT ® (leuprolide acetate for depot suspension) 7.5 mg for 1-month, 22.5 mg for 3-month, 30 mg for 4-month, and 45 mg for 6-month administration are prescribed for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. LUPRON DEPOT is a prescription medication that must be administered in your doctor's office.

So far 3 years of Erleada

Apalutamide, sold under the brand name Erleada among others, is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen medication that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It is specifically indicated for use in conjunction with castration in the treatment of non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. It is taken by mouth.

The cost for an Erleada oral tablet of 60 mg is around $14,965 for a supply of 120 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Quoted prices are for cash-paying customers and are not valid with insurance plans. That's for one month of pills.

"Seven years of misery because I was avoiding the 'finger in the butt' procedure just like Peter. I guess I should have taken one for the team and let the doctor do his thing. Lesson learned - always listen to your doctor, even if it's a pain in the butt... literally!"
